VW AppConnect Activation

Activate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in your VW AppConnect that has MIB2 headunit to enjoy a safer driving experience. Apple Carplay and Android Auto is capable of showing useful apps like Waze, Google Maps, Spotify, Apple Music and much more. Siri is also integrated within Carplay, to provide a more enhanced hands free experience.

Using our smart activation solution, we can easily activate this AppConnect in your VW if you have a MIB2 stereo/headunit in your car. MIB2 MMI headunits were installed in 2015+ cars. This is just a software activation and no hardware changes are made.

On some headunits we are able to activate Voice Control and Performance Monitors too. This might be included in the price or be extra depending on your headunit.

Using our smart SD Card solution, we can easily activate AppConnect in your VW, if you have a MIB2 headunit in your car. MIB2 headunits were installed in 2015+ cars. This is just a software activation and no hardware changes are made. Some 2015/16 cars may need USB port changing to allow Apple Carplay.

How can this be done on your car?

Remotely: We send you the files via email. You download the files, copy them to your SD Card using Windows laptop and upload them on to your headunit. Full instructions provided and any support. Takes less than 5 minutes.

In London: You can drive down to us in London (E14) and have us activate this for you. Super simple and fast.

Compatibility

To be eligible for AppConnect activation, your vehicle must:

• Be a 2015+ VW model (e.g. Golf MK7, Passat, Polo, Tiguan, etc.)
• Have the MIB2 head unit (not MIB1)
• Have navigation or non-navigation firmware
• Show “App-Connect” greyed out or inactive in the menu
• Have a USB port near the gear lever or inside the armrest
• Software versions starting with “MST2…” (Check by pressing Setup > Version Info)

To check software version:

Press and Hold Menu button for 5 seconds
Go to Software version/update

Important

No refund once the order has been processed because files are locked to your car’s VIN number. Please do NOT try to use these on different cars/headunit as it will cause the headunit to brick.
